Usually used as a stand alone plant to create a feature point of thr garden. This bamboo can however be used to form hedges too due to its dense growing nature. Not spreading more than around 1.5m from where planted makes it non invasive and Clumping. It won't take over the sapce it's put in. Ideally well draining soil but water plenty in dry periods. Prefers a semi shady to shade spot away from midday sun.
